There had been so much that has happened since I last blogged I will try to recap the past couple of weeks. First of all we did a few last things before summer break was over. We went to the Indiana State Fair on the 12th, and we got to hear John David Webster play and a few other bands. It was very hot, but we had a good time. Then back to school I went.
Since school has started it has been an adventure. The first two and a half days with the kids was fun. Then the weekend came and it was busy as usual for this time of year. On Friday and Saturday we had birthday parties and then on Sunday Matt, Gabe, and I went to Plainfield with my family to go to the Metropolis and to Splash Island Water Park. The water was cold, but we still had a good time. Then Monday came and back to work we went. For those of you who don't know I took a maternity leave which was supposed to last until the end of September, but after last Tuesday, I was told that the teacher I was subbing for had voluntarily taken a transfer to another school and had extended her maternity leave until January. It has been very crazy over the passed few days. Wednesday I tore down the classroom I was subbing in, Thursday I sat up the room I am teaching in now, and Friday I had my new students. At least I only had them one day before the weekend. Which this past weekend was a special one since my really good friend got married and my family did all of the food for her reception. It may have been a crazy idea, but it all worked out. Matt has also been busy with his new job and working on the house projects. Hopefully things in our lives will calm down soon, but until then we will continue to live our lives as we are called to live them. We pray that God will lead us through this time in our lives and will continue to give us strength and direction.
