Our Anniversary Weekend

Matt and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on Sunday, but we being the people that we are didn't just celebrate on Sunday or with just the two of us. One of our friends was going to be in the Indianapolis area celebrating his recent marriage by having a wedding reception on Saturday so we took advantage of the perfect timing and spent the weekend in Indy. We got up Saturday and left to go see our friend and meet his wife and to also visit with a few other couples that Matt went to Rose with. Then since we were close we went to Splash Island in Plainfield with my parents, sisters, my brother-in-law, and my niece and nephew.
This is Gabe and his cousin, Gwen, walking by themselves in the baby pool. They both love the water and enjoy playing with each other in the pool.
This is Matt and Gabe playing under the waterfall palm tree in the baby pool. Neither one of them minds getting wet.
We had a great time until it started raining (it was a cold rain). Since it was raining and we were all getting hungry, we went to Chuck E. Cheese so we could let the kids (and the grown-ups) play. We all had a good time and Matt found out that he has Flamin' Fingers. He won two hundred tickets on that one game. After we had used all of our tokens and ate, Matt, Gabe and I went to check in to our hotel. As a special treat Matt and I ordered room service for dessert and enjoyed a yummy piece of strawberry cheesecake. Gabe also enjoyed the dessert, but mostly he was more interested in laying in the other bed that he got to sleep in by himself.
Here is Gabe lounging in his hotel bed watching TV. Notice he has the remote.
Then on Sunday morning after eating breakfast at the hotel we took off toward the Children's Museum. We have all been there before, but we enjoy ourselves every time we go so we wanted to do something that we would enjoy, the only problem on Sunday was that Gabe was ready for a nap about half an hour after we got there. We fought through the tiredness and tried to enjoy as many of the exhibits as we could. Gabe loved the Playscape which is the area just for kids under 5. His favorite part was the water table.
He did wear a smock which kept his somewhat dry.
Matt and Gabe also enjoyed the comic book exhibit. Matt got to draw a Ninja Turtle comic while Gabe played in the dress up area and took a little break.
As you can see Gabe did not dress up but he rode in this car with quite a few super heroes.
Gabe taking a break in the Super Man chair.
Right before we went to the DinoSphere Gabe spotted this race car so we had to take his picture in it.

It was a fun-filled anniversary weekend and we hope to have many more just like it, well minus the nap time museum visits. We'll have to plan that part better next time.
