December

Oh where did the end of the year go. We were so busy in the month of December it is hard to remember what all we did, but I do want to share some of the highlights with everyone. We started the month off with Matt going to San Diego with his dad, brother, sister, and Aunt Bev to spread his mom's ashes, which was her wishes before she passed away. While he was gone for the weekend the kids and I went with my sisters, my niece, and my nephew to see a real reindeer at the local library and then to dinner. The next day the kids and I went to the House of the Christmas Mouse. They have stations with stories and activities for the kids to enjoy. Even though we were in different states and doing different activities we all seemed to have a nice weekend.

The following week we had my MOP's group Christmas party. It was a family event which was nice. Then we celebrated Matt's birthday on Wednesday by going to dinner with some friends and then having a party on Saturday with friends and family. Then on Sunday, Gabe and Beka saw Santa at Rose Hulman before returning to church for the children's Christmas program,which Gabe was a lamb in.

The following Sunday we had an extended family Christmas with my dad's side of the family, which began the family festivities for Christmas week. Thursday we did lunch with my immediate family and Christmas with my dad's side of the family, which included dinner and opening gifts for the kids. Christmas Day we opened gifts at home before heading to my parent's house for brunch and gifts. Then dinner was at my aunt's house where we celebrated with my mom's side of the family.
Although Christmas was done for most families we had one more place to go, Fort Wayne. We left on the 26th to celebrate Christmas and Beka's birthday with Matt's family. It was very nice that Matt's aunts threw Beka a birthday party while we were there. The decorated and made birthday cakes. The pictures of all of this are still on the camera so I will have to post pictures of her birthday in Fort Wayne and her party festivites in Terre Haute which was on Monday the 28th on her blog later.

To finish up the year I took the kids for their well check-ups on Tuesday, Gabe's 3-year and Beka's 1-year. Yes, I was mean and made my daughter get shots and give blood on her birthday. Then the kids and I left for Indianapolis with my parents and sister to celebrate Beka's birthday at Incredible Pizza Company where my sister, brother-in-law, neice and nephew met us while Matt was setting up for a Chi Alpha conference. We met Matt after the pizza party and spent the rest of the week at the conference. I will post pictures of this later as well.
